Phosphosiderite is a somewhat unusual Mineral that was identified in 1858. It was named after its major element, phosphate and iron.

Most of the world’s Phosphosiderite comes from Germany, the United States of America, Portugal, Chile and Argentina.

Phosphosiderite Crystals are extremely tiny and come in red and pink tints.

Phosphosiderite ranks 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, indicating that it is relatively soft. It is also brittle and must be handled with care.
