The Beatles Visit in 1968
If you’re a Beatles fan, then you know that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr visited Rishikesh in 1968. It was here that they wrote over 40 songs during their stay at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram. During their time at the ashram, they experienced meditation classes with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and practised Transcendental Meditation. This experience was life-changing for the band members, who went on to write some of their most iconic songs after returning from their trip. Come with us to explore exactly where all this creativity happened
Yoga & Meditation Sessions
Rishikesh is well known as an important destination for yoga and meditation seekers. People come from all over the world to practice these activities in this sacred place with its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking views of the Ganges River. Using Crystals in Healing, Practise and For Fun!
Crystals have been used for centuries in various spiritual practices, such as Meditation, Chakra Healing and Yoga. Crystals are believed to be powerful tools that can help us access higher states of consciousness, heal ourselves and manifest our desires. We aim to inhale as much of this goodness as possible whilst in Rishikesh!
In Meditation, Crystals can help us reach a deeper level of relaxation by providing an anchor point for our focus while we meditate. By holding or placing a Crystal near the body during Meditation, we can draw upon its energy to guide us into a more peaceful state of mind. Different Crystals also correspond with different Chakras (energy centres in the body), so they can be used to facilitate healing on physical and emotional levels too. For example, Rose Quartz is known as the stone of unconditional love, and it helps open up the Heart Chakra, which promotes self-love and acceptance and compassion – aligning wonderfully with our Tour Mission of…
WELLNESS > COMPASSION > WELLBEING!
In Yoga practice, Crystals are often incorporated into poses or placed nearby to create an atmosphere conducive to inner exploration. We need to ensure that we get our poses right first, or else it will be more akin to a game of Twister than a meditative, relaxing experience!
When working with specific poses intended for certain areas of the body or emotions, using Crystals associated with those areas may enhance your experience even further! For instance, if you’re doing postures meant to reduce stress, then Amethyst would be an ideal Crystal choice due to its calming properties. BRING ON THE AMETHYST!
Some Chants To Use With Crystals in Rishikesh
Namaste is an Indian chant used for honouring the divine that lies within each human being. In Rishikesh, it is often used when working with crystals to acknowledge and pay respect to the source of all energy within us. This chant can help open up and align you with the Crystal’s energies and intentions while holding a Crystal in your hands. It can be used on its own or with other chants.
Om Namah Shivaya is a powerful mantra used in Rishikesh, India, that translates to “I bow to the divine within myself”. This chant has been used for centuries by devotees of Lord Shiva, the destroyer of evil and all-encompassing God in Hinduism. It is believed that chanting this mantra helps to bring clarity and focus to our intentions, making it the perfect accompaniment while working with Crystals.
Om Ganeshaya Namaha is a powerful chant used in Rishikesh, India, to honour the elephant-headed god of wisdom and success, Ganesha. This chant is believed to bring good luck, fortune and prosperity, as well as help clear away any obstacles or challenges that may be standing in our way. When working with Crystals in Rishikesh, this chant can help us to open our hearts and minds to more abundant energies of success and fortune.
Om Vayuputraya Namaha is a powerful chant dedicated to the Hindu God Vayu, which translates to “salutations to the sustainer of life”. This chant is believed to bring strength, courage, and vitality to those that practice it. While working with Crystals during our time in Rishikesh, this chant can be used to help reconnect with the divine source of power and courage within us.
Om Buddham Sharanam Gachchami is a powerful chant used in Rishikesh, India, to honour Lord Buddha and his teachings.
