Ocean Jasper Gemmology Facts:

Ocean Jasper is an orbicular Gemstone. It grows in smaller orbs of varying colours and sizes that each grow over time, merges, joins and touches, bringing us this most curious and beautiful pattern unique to every Gemstone.

Ocean Jasper is the most phenomenal of materials only found along the rugged northeast coast of Madagascar. It is quite a recent Gemstone find in terms of discovery as it was located, then lost and then found again – mainly as the deposit could only be seen from the sea at low tide. It became a Gemstone sensation in 2000, and as it is no longer mined, it is expected that this Gemstone will increase in scarcity and price as time goes on.

Orbicular Jasper is perfect for Meditation and circular breathing – we guess it would be due to round patterns! Sheena’s top meditation tip is to take two Orbicular Jaspers and focus a few moments contemplating the orbicular patterns and getting to know the Stones.
