They are all uniquely wonderful with their swirls, patches and stripes. The white and paler colours enable the prominence of the darker colours, ensuring we see all these patterns in their true glory.

Mexican Agate Gemmology Facts:

Agate is an absolute favourite at Chalmers Gems, as every piece is unique. Agate takes 50 million years to form from the deposition of layers of silica that fill voids in volcanic rocks.

Agate Nodules are commonly found within the cavities. The layers form in stages, with new layers often creating alternating colours.

There are countless varieties of Agate, and their names tend to be associated with their appearance.

For example, Blue Lace Agate demonstrates baby blue and white lace-like branding, whereas Fire Agate comes in deep oranges and red giving it a fiery appearance.

These are stunning Mexican Agate Cabochons and, as you can see from the images, are alive with lovely Autumnal colours such as burnt red through to white with fantastical patterns.

They come from the same rough stone from which Fire Agate is cut, so they exhibit some superb patterns.
