Dalmatian Jasper, also known as Dalmatian Stone, is commonly mined in Chihuahua, Mexico. This unique Gemstone has been given its name due to its likeness with the Dalmatian dog breed.

Jasper is a variety of Quartz that contains an element of other materials/inclusions, such as organic and mineral materials. These inclusions determine the colours, patterns, and appearance of the Gemstone.

When you look at any Jasper, it is usually multicoloured with curious patterns. Jasper can be cut into many shapes and very thinly, and what we love about it as jewellery makers is how highly polished Jasper can be.

Most Jaspers have the same Gemmological characteristics and have different trade names that enable us to identify the type of Jasper. They are largely spotted/orbicular or banded/striped.
