The Beatles Visit in 1968
If you’re a Beatles fan, then you know that John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr visited Rishikesh in 1968. It was here that they wrote over 40 songs during their stay at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s ashram. During their time at the ashram, they experienced meditation classes with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and practised Transcendental Meditation. This experience was life-changing for the band members, who went on to write some of their most iconic songs after returning from their trip.
