SELENITE GEMMOLOGY FACTS:

Selenite belongs to a family of minerals known as the Gypsum Group. Most of the Crystals found are transparent and colourless; however, specimens can be found in different colours.

Selenite grows with a fibrous structure. These fibres act like fibre optics carrying light through them; this is why Selenite looks awesome as a lamp or stood on a USB LED Light.

Coming from the Greek word for moon – the literal translation is Moon Glow. We can see why! When light is shone through Selenite, the material’s structure captures the rays and amplifies and shimmers them throughout the piece.
