Rainbow Obsidian is a variety of Obsidian, other varieties include silver-sheen, green, gold-sheen, black and electric blue.

Obsidian is a type of natural glass formed by the rapid cooling of volcanic lava. A Crystalline structure would have been created if the lava had been allowed to cool slowly. It has a dark body colour which is due to the presence of iron and magnesium in its structure.
