Prehnite Gemmology Facts:

Prehnite is a Calcium Aluminum Silicate Mineral and was discovered in South Africa in 1788 by A.G. Werner – a German Geologist. Since its discovery, it has been mined in China, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand and The United States of America.

During the early 2000s, an extremely rare Orange Prehnite was found in South Africa. Unfortunately, this vein of Gemstone has now been completely exhausted and is yet to be found anywhere else!

It is a pale green semi-translucent Gemstone but can be milky or darker in appearance.

The black inclusions are a Mineral called Epidote.
