Labradorite Gemmology Facts:

Labradorite is a Feldspar Mineral. It demonstrates the phenomena of Labradorscence which exhibit flashes of blue, green, red, purple, orange and yellow. Now Labradorscence isn’t a display of colours – it is a reaction with light. When light enters the Stone it strikes the twinning surface. The flash of colour/colours you see is the light being reflected from the twinning surface. Different surfaces will give different colour reflections.

Starting with the Rough Stone, the skilled carver will decide which is the best direction to carve the piece to ensure the quality and that they display their glorious Labradorescence!
