Calcite is a very common Gemstone and can be found in many parts of the world. Despite its abundance, it is a complex Crystal. Calcite is a Carbonate Mineral that forms in a variety of colours. Shades include red, orange, green, blue, and yellow to name a few.

Caribbean Calcite is one of the more recently discovered Gemstones. This Crystal is made up of blue Calcite, light brown Aragonite and white Aragonite.

Calcite has a low Mohs hardness of 3. It is an extremely hard Gemstone to cut. Calcite has perfect cleavage in three directions.
