Our lovely, tactile Tree Agate Slices are the perfect size for both Jewellery Makers and Crystal Healers alike. They can be very easily wire-wrapped into a show-stopping piece of Jewellery, or they are absolutely ideal for your Macrame makes.

GEMMOLOGY FACTS: TREE AGATE

Tree Agate is actually a type of Dendritic Agate. Part of the Quartz Crystal System, this Gem contains fern or plant-like inclusions that are formed due to minerals manganese and iron oxide finding their way into the Quartz during the transformative process.

Over 50 million years to form, these types of Dendritic Agates offer unique patterns in every single piece.

It has a Mohs Hardness of 6.5 – 7, making them quite a robust Gemstone to work with, with no cleavage.

Not to be confused with Moss Agate. Whilst it has a very similar formation, Moss Agate has more of a bush-like pattern as opposed to the clearer branches of Tree Agate.

It is commonly found in India, Brazil, the United States of America, Morocco, the Czech Republic and Africa.

This stunning Gemstone comes in white with a mottled green complexion. Agate is an absolute favourite at Chalmers Gems, as every piece is unique.
