Tanzanite is a lilac to blue Gemstone from Tanzania near Mount Kilimanjaro.

Part of the Zoisite family, Gemmologically Tanzanite is quite an interesting material exhibiting a phenomenon called Trichroism, meaning it may show three different colours or shades in various orientations.

Tanzanite is a relatively soft Gemstone measuring 6-7 on the Mohs Scale of Hardness. However, it is a very desirable Gem because of its elegant, opulent colour.
