Rhodonite was first discovered in the late 1700s! These spectacular Rhodonite Gems are pink in colour and mottled with black flecks running throughout. The name Rhodonite comes from the Greek word for ‘Rose’ – perfect considering the beautiful rosy pink tones. Rhodonite was also called Eagle Stone during the early 1800s by local people to the Urals Mountain Range. The story goes that locals witnessed eagles carrying small pieces of Rhodonite back to their nests.

Rhodonite is usually found within metaphoric rocks.

Rhodonite is an uncommon Mineral. It is found in a few small deposits across the world, such as Argentina, England and the United States of America.

Rhodonite is between 5.5 and 6.5 on the Moh’s hardness scale.
