Gemmology Facts:

Ocean Jasper is an orbicular Gemstone. It grows in smaller orbs of varying colours and sizes that develop over time, merges, joins, and touch, bringing us this most curious and beautiful pattern unique to every Gemstone.

Ocean Jasper is the most phenomenal of materials only found along the rugged northeast coast of Madagascar. It is quite a recent Gemstone find in terms of discovery as it was located, then lost and then found again – mainly as the deposit could only be seen from the sea at low tide. It became a Gemstone sensation in 2000, and as it is no longer mined, it is expected that this Gemstone will increase in scarcity and price as time goes on.

Our ethical, no-nonsense Ocean Jasper Matt Nuggets are an excellent grounding Stone. Used at the Base or Root Chakra, this energy enables us to ground ourselves and encourage stability – which is what we think 2022 is all about!

You can use our Ocean Jasper Matt Nuggets for a total Chakra alignment which has been likened to a trip to the chiropractor due to its aligning energies.

Orbicular Jasper is perfect for Meditation and circular breathing – we guess it would be due to round patterns! Sheena’s top meditation tip is to take two Orbicular Jaspers and focus a few moments contemplating the orbicular patterns and getting to know the Stones. Then place one in each palm, close your eyes and tune your breathing into the patterns on each, following the shapes in your mind as you take your breathing in and out – switching from palm to palm in your mind after a few rotations of the patterns on each stone. (When you change hands, try taking the energy up the arm and across the shoulders and neck and down the other side – nice and slowly!)
