KAMBABA JASPER GEMMOLOGY FACTS:

Did you know that Kambaba Jasper is also known as Star Galaxy Jasper and is also called Crocodile Jasper and Green Stromatolite?

Jasper, of all forms, is an aggregate micro-granular Quartz or cryptocrystalline Chalcedony and even other minerals.

As an opaque Gemstone, it’s an impure type of silica that can come in many colours and patterns – largely depending on the minerals that make their way (via wind or rain) into the original Quartz during its making within Mother Earth.

Used since the Stone Age, Jaspers have been used as Gemstones to accentuate Jewellery and are often carved and polished into individual adornments.

Jaspers are relatively hard, so they are great for the more robust makes.

There is virtually nowhere on Earth you cannot find Jasper. It is found on every continent, but the most visited deposits are in India, Russia, Egypt and the southwestern United States of America.

Certain patterns and shades can even be identified back to the region in which they were found.
