Hematite is an iron ore form of iron oxide Mineral. It is found as masses, botryoidol, tabular and super rare rhomhedral. The term “Hematite” comes from the Greek word for “blood”.

Hematite has a metallic sheen and is available in various colours, including black, grey, and silver, as well as reddish-brown variations. Rainbow Hematite has the same appearance as oil patches on water.

NASA has found Hematite on Mars! What is really interesting is that for this mineral to form, water must be present.
