Our Baltic Amber Small Nuggets come packed on to a 38cm strand with a 0.5mm drill hole.
Each of these extraordinary nuggets are approximately 5×2 -10x2mm each. Only £8.50 per strand these are unmissable!
Did you know: To be classed as Amber the material must be over 1 million years old, otherwise it is classed as Copal. Who knew?!
Most gemstones are composed of the elements that are present as they are growing deep within the earth and have a crystalline structure. However, this doesn’t apply to all gem materials – such as Amber and Jet! These are called Organics which means they are produced from living organisms and are not minerals like other gemstones!
Amber an organic material that formed tens of millions of years ago when sap from ancient tree resin hardened and fossilised. Baltic Amber can be washed on to the Coast and is collected from the beaches or it can be mined from the ground.
Marie has been to Poland and collected amber from the beaches but not these particular nuggets!
