Angelite Gemmology Facts:

Angelite is a beautiful Gemstone commonly found in calming pastel tones. You can expect to find this Stone in lilacs and pale blues and has been named after it’s angelic appearance. It comes from the Stone variety Anhydrite and is a newly discovered Gemstone. It was only discovered in 1987 in Peru. The Crystal is made up of Calcium Sulfate. The Stone comes into contact with water and then the water is evaporated. It is compressed over millions of years, leaving these beautiful Anhydrite Crystals behind.

Very rarely, you may also find Angelite that is Green in appearance, similar to that of Malachite. Angelite is a soft Stone allowing making it susceptible to soaking up moisture. With a Mohs hardness of 3.5 it is the perfect material to be transformed into beautiful Jewellery or stunning Collectables.

These Gemstones are commonly found in the UK, Germany, Mexico, Peru, Poland and Libya.
