Each bead measures approximately 8mm and they are packed onto a 38cm strand with a drill hole of 0.6mm.

What is Rutile?

Rutile is the needle-like crystals inside quartz crystals. Positioned as inclusions, they give the quartz a wondrous appearance with every single gemstone being unique and different.

Rutile can grow in quite a few colours from gold and yellow through to red and black. Its gemstone value resides in its very nature as an inclusion within another quartz and can be cut either smoothly and polished or faceted to offer a gallery of catching lights. As you can see in the images, our Quartz Drops are packed with black rutile, giving them a very striking appearance.

Offering protection, Rutile of any colour, is often used in association with the Brow or Third Eye Chakra. As we know, this is the Chakra where our intuition and insight energies can get snagged up which is why Rutile, identified as a more spiritual presence in this area, is good for the aura whilst also being a good energy for mental balance.
