We love the history of Keshi Pearls as they are a little bit of a natural sensation in the world of Pearls, as they are completely made of nacre – better known to us and you as Mother of Pearl which in turn gives them a beautifully high lustre. These no-nucleus organic treasures have been farmed and sourced for centuries as they are hugely desirable. Marie has sourced all of our Pearls from reputable sources and these Keshi’s are no exception, having been hand-selected by Marie.

Marie’s most recent visit to a Pearl farm last year (before any restrictions) resulted in the most incredible first-hand insights into the farming of cultured pearls, which in turn has translated into our wonderful Pearl Category.

Where gemstones form as minerals underground, pearls are organic; they form within the soft tissues of a living creature; a mollusc.

The difference between natural and cultured pearls is most simply described as cultured pearls are given a helping hand by way of a mantle inclusion. 90% of today’s Pearl market is for cultured pearls.

Once the Pearls have been harvested, they go to market for sale. As buyers we all need to be aware that there is a mass flood of fake, cheap imports and need to be careful where we buy our Pearls from.

Composed from the second harvest, these stunning Keshi Pearls carry the colours of the mother of pearl into their outer appearance, in this case, white!
