Red Hematoid Quartz Gemmology Facts:

Hematoid Quartz is also known as Hematite in Quartz and Ferruginous Quartz in the Gemmology world; it is a very interesting Gemstone and is excellent to look at with your Chalmers Gems Loupe. Through the Quartz, you can see patches of Red Hematite. The Hematite grows alongside the Quartz creating these beautiful inclusions rather than a solid colour.

If you take your Loupe and look at your Hematoid Quartz, you will see planes of Hematite.

Clear Quartz got its name from the Slavic word for “Hard”.  It is by far the most common Gemstone found on Earth. Varieties of Clear Quartz have even been found in Aberdeenshire and Angus in Scotland.
