In Spanish, Palo Santo translates to “Holy Wood.” For thousands of years, the wood, resin, and oil have been used for medicinal purposes across the World and its primarily used to treat pain and to calm stress. The tree from which is comes is called a Bursera Graveolens that grows in South America. Originally, the ritual whereby the wood is used, comes from Incan tradition. The smoke from burning the wood during spiritual ceremonies was deemed medicinal. This ritual lead to a resetting of energies especially negativity or conflict. The wood also has a really lovely distinctive smell.
