Quartz is a Mineral made of oxygen and silicon atoms.

Quartz got its name from the Slavic word for “Hard”.  It is by far the most common Gemstone found on Earth. Varieties of Quartz have even been found in Aberdeenshire and Angus in Scotland.

Quartz grows in a trigonal structure and has a vitreous lustre.
