Gemmology Facts:

Did you know that Kambaba Jasper is also known as Star Galaxy Jasper and is also called Crocodile Jasper and Green Stromatolite?

Kambaba Jasper is actually classed as a stromatolite (a fossil) as opposed to a Jasper. A clump of fossilised algae created this mineral and gave it distinctive patterns and colour.

Jasper is a variety of Quartz which contains an element of other materials/inclusions, such as organic material and mineral material and it is these inclusions that determine the colours, patterns and appearance within the Gemstone. When you look at any type of Jasper it is usually multicoloured with curious patterns.

Jasper can be cut into many shapes and can be cut very thinly and what we love about it as Jewellery makers is how highly polished Jasper can be. Most Jaspers have the same gemmological characteristics and have different trade names that enable us to identify the type of Jasper. They are largely spotted/orbicular or banded/striped.

Crystal Healing Properties:

Often used in practice with the Heart Chakra Kambaba Jasper offers energy full of peace and tranquillity so is perfect for use in Meditation and also whilst sleeping as it soothes, calms and protects.

In ancient civilisations, Jasper was worn by shamans, priests and kings, as this wonderful healing Gemstone was considered sacred and powerful protection aid. They made talismans and jewellery as protectors and also for courage and wisdom.

Kambaba Jasper is also used as a rubbing Stone which makes these Donuts perfect for a Pendant, giving the wearer instant access to a soothing aid whilst it helps to banish any harmful thoughts.

These little Donuts are perfect for carrying in your pocket for Crystal Healing on the go, or pop under your pillow for a pure and protected sleep. Now, Crystals are not “magic pills” that are going to fix all your problems by just having them near. You need to interact and programme your Gems to work for you. To start we suggest using moonlight, an incense item, a water bath to cleanse your Kambaba Jasper or a Chalmers Gems Cleaning & Polishing Cloth. Once clean and cleansed it is time to programme your Gem. There are lots of different ways to programme Crystals but our favourite is to hold your Crystal and speak your intention (internally or aloud), you can move it from hand to hand. Once you have repeated your intention 10 times, place your Crystal on your Third Eye Chakra. This will allow you to visualise yourself living out your intentions.
