Spinel is a lesser-known but highly prized Gemstone.

Black Spinel is formed when Molten Rock and Limestone are combined. Spinel is often thought of as a red Gemstone, but it also comes in other colours, such as the Black Spinel. This Black opaque version is commonly found in various sizes.

Inclusions are very rare in Black Spinel, but if you are lucky enough to get a piece with slight inclusions, you will see a beautiful star-like appearance. Black Spinel is a super sparkly Gemstone; in fact, it’s much sparklier than most other Black Gems on the market.

Red Spinel is particularly popular in the Chinese market and can sell for more than Ruby.
