Black Agate Gemmology Facts:

Agate is an absolute favourite at Chalmers Gems, as every piece is unique. Agate takes 50 million years to form from the deposition of layers of silica that fill voids in volcanic cavities.

The layers form in stages, with new layers often forming alternating colours. Much Agate is dyed to give it vibrant colours, accentuating the material’s striations.

There are countless varieties of Agate, and their names tend to be associated with their appearance.

For example, Black Agate is a dark and mysterious Gem when compared to Blue Lace Agate demonstrates baby blue and white lace-like branding and Fire Agate comes in deep oranges and red giving it a fiery appearance.

Crystal Healing Properties: What is Black Agate good for?

Black Agate has the most complex and long-standing history, even mentioned in the Bible as Heaven’s Gemstone.

Having been used throughout the human ages as a voider of toxicity, Agate was (and is still) believed to help alleviate fever, pain and nausea. Agate holistically brings a brilliant harmony of the soul, mind and body.

This calm Stone simply wants you to be laced in the spirit of soft nature, from boosting your immune system and building you up with antioxidant incense to helping you balance all your energy so you don’t fall into people-pleasing or blowing your top.

Agate is one of the most potent Luck Stones as the embodiment of luck. This is why having an ornate piece of this beautiful Gem in your living or working space is such a good idea!

Black Agate is a fantastic Stone to have by your side when you require rebalancing both your physical and mental body.

It can provide transformative energies, giving you space to reflect and move on from anything negative that may be bringing you down.

It gives you the courage to look at life for what it really is, enjoyment, adventure, happiness and compassion. If you fear something that hasn’t happened yet, we recommend that you reach for a price of Black Agate and sit with it for a short while. You will begin to feel all your worries wash over you like a gentle wave.

What Chakra does Black Agate open?

Black Agate can help to balance and cleanse all Chakras, but it is most associated with the Root Chakra. The Root Chakra, also known as the Base Chakra, is the grounding energy centre of our whole well-being. Unblocking this Chakra will achieve stability and grounding.

GEMSTONE & CRYSTAL CARE:

One of the most important things to remember if you own Gemstones or Crystals is to care for them properly. Gemstones should be carefully cared for like any other item we love.

We recommend using the Chalmers Gems Gemstone Cleaning & Polishing Cloth to keep your Gems clean.
